Certificates for Non-accredited and Accredited Routes

Non-Accredited Route
Those learners undertaking the programme as an up-skilling exercise only, without registering for academic accreditation or completing academic assignments, can be awarded a ‘Certificate of Completion’. This certificate will be awarded if the learner completes a minimum of 50 hours of learning using the online programme and submits a supervisor’s report for attendance of six supervision sessions with a CBT supervisor. The CBT supervisor should be a qualified CBT practitioner and preferably accredited by the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP). The learner must attend six supervision sessions of one-hour duration that includes reflection on their practice using video or audio recordings of clinical sessions during at least four of these supervision sessions. The supervisor report will indicate whether the learner is considered proficient in CBT and if so, the learner will be eligible for a ‘Certificate of Completion’. In addition, the learner will have completed at least 50 hours of online learning and will actively contribute to learner forums. Evidence of this learning will be taken directly from online activity data available to Praxis CBT tutors from the website.

Accredited Route

To study Praxis with University accreditation and recieve CPD credits from Newcastle University an assignment (essay or case study) must be completed and passed. Newcastle University will award 20 CPD credits for the equivalent of a university module. On gaining 60 credits (3 Praxis Modules) these can be transferred and used toward other courses e.g. Postgraduate Certificate in CBT.

  • This handbook is the latest guidance for all data collection issues within the IAPT Programme. It replaces the IAPT Outcomes Toolkit, the IAPT Key Performance Indicators Technical Guidance and the IAPT Data Quality Assurance Process and Metrics. All versions of these documents are superseded by this single document.
  • The government plans to publish a new drug strategy later this year. This targeted consultation provides an early opportunity for a wide range of partners to contribute to the development of the new strategy. This consultation is aimed at a wide audience, from charities to enforcement partners, drug workers, voluntary and community sector organisations. Responses from members of the public are also welcome. The consultation closes on 30th September, 2010.
